Introduction
The Battle of Cheriton Project Limited, a company limited by guarantee, has been established to raise the profile of an important battlefield – the site of the Battle of Cheriton – and to enlighten the public about the momentous events that unfolded across the countryside during the English Civil War, some 360 years ago, by means of an interactive educational programme, improved public information and weekend events.
We feel passionately that local students should have the opportunity to better understand their history and culture and believe that the experiences on offer at Cheriton will help them to learn in an exciting and fun environment.
The Project has brought together a wide range of partners in a unique collaboration. Each partner has one or more specific interests, education, history, conservation or tourism, and under the umbrella of the Project has the opportunity to achieve their objectives in relation to this site.
